Questions

Frequently asked

$3,000 — all-inclusive, flat fee. That covers all attorney fees, filing fees, document drafting, and representation through final judgment. No hourly billing. No additional invoices. Typically completed in 90 days or less. Every client receives a private case portal to check status 24/7.
Yes — every issue must be resolved before we can file an uncontested divorce. That means all marital assets and debts divided, timesharing and parenting plan agreed, child support calculated, and alimony settled or waived. If one issue is unresolved, the matter moves to a contested tier. Some couples get there on their own. Others use a mediator first — and we can help with that too.
Low conflict cases typically resolve in 4–8 months. Medium conflict in 6–18 months. High conflict matters involving custody disputes, business valuations, or substantial assets can take 18 months to 3 years. Florida law requires a 20-day waiting period after service regardless of conflict level.
Hidden assets push your matter squarely into High Conflict territory. Discovery — financial subpoenas, deposition of your spouse, forensic accounting referrals — costs time and money. The $20,000–$25,000 retainer reflects that reality honestly. The retainer is held in trust and billed against as work is performed. If the retainer is exhausted before resolution, replenishment is required. You will always know your balance through your private portal.
The $3,000 flat fee requires full written agreement on all issues before we begin. Whether you achieved that through mediation, direct negotiation, or a kitchen table conversation does not matter. If you have a signed marital settlement agreement covering all issues, we can proceed. If not — we start with a consultation to assess your conflict level and the right tier for your situation.
For medium and high conflict matters, white glove service means one point of contact — Steven Fraser directly. No handoffs to paralegals. No phone tag. No unanswered emails. Combined with your private case portal — which shows every update, document, and milestone in real time — you will never be left wondering where your case stands or who is handling it.
Yes. Steven Fraser has extensive experience with military divorce including NAS Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport families. Military divorce involves additional complexity — SCRA protections, military pension division under USFSPA, BAH/COLA in support calculations, and deployment timesharing modifications. Military matters are priced based on conflict level using the same tier framework above.
